I just rescued 3 year old app, wanted to chat with folks that have had apps before, I always had quarter horses and he's my first horse since I was 19 (37 now) a little rusty but I remember my horse stuff and he's very willing but needs weight....

I guess I don't have many questions, that Apache isn't answering himself for me, he's incredibly smart, trick horse smart and willing, and has the cutest dog like personality, and wants to be a cow horse, I put him in with the cows yesterday for the first time and he started herding them for fun, put them all in a corner and when they moved from the spot he put them back, he's gaining weight and looking good and obviously feeling good, he was running around with his tail in the air feeling his oats to be sure!

Hi Pkcowboy, I just visited ya'll website and looked at your horses, beautiful beautiful!! I love Blue, as a girl I dreamed of a dapple blue gray horse like that, and a solid black one, and a spotted one, and a....it goes on forever, I have a app. question...have you ever noticed your apps yawning alot....I thought it was just my Apache, then I was watching a Lyons Training video, and he brought his app out and that horse stood there yawning just like apache does!! is it a breed thing? do yours do that?
and have you ever been away from your horses for more than a week at a time and did they remember you, we're moving and I'm going ahead to get things set up and I've been away from him now for a week....he's getting worked with but I still worry I'll have to start all over when I get him up here....(moving to Indiana)
Thanks again!
any idea too why there aren't many postings here? seems like a good message board....
